How we work with Social Media Policies

How we work with Social Media Policies The title of the post is misleading since we don’t work with an official social media policy yet. So how do work with social media? We mainly work with Facebook, but also Instagram and LinkedIn. This post is going to focus on Facebook, as that is our main priority. Our structure of Facebook pages follows our organisational structure. As written in my first post, our organisation is very broad and spans across many different type of educations. Our goal has been to let the Facebook pages act as a mirror of the offline communities on the different educations. This means the activity on the different Facebook pages varies across educations as non-communications professionals manage them. Experience shows that the pupils identify strongly with their education and less with the organisation that the education is a part of. The different Facebook pages are being run by either teachers or line managers depending on the structure. This ensure

Mid-term teacher reflections

So - now we've been through half the course. And what have we learned? Lisbet has learned a lot - one of the most important things is probably that I would need to be stricter in terms of allowing time for reflection in class. Alex - what have you learned so far? Well, teaching is such a rewarding activity, and I've been away from it for some time, so it is nice to be back, and I'm enjoying it. And Ann? Any thoughts? I think it's difficult to relate to the SoMe issues, but I'm learning, and I'm getting there. Henrik is away on business, so we have no idea what he has been picking up so far. But knowing him, there would also be quality learnings for him as well. So, you see, dear students - learning is a two-way process and never ends, which is why we need your feedback.

My first full time position

Transitioning to my first full time position Hi and welcome to my first blog post ever. This first post is going to focus on what I do in my first job. But first a short introduction. My name is Daniel and I am 24 years old. I graduated this summer from CBS from the very same programme as you are studying now. During my studies at both BA and MA level I have held two student assistant positions which ultimately led to my first full time job. I work as a social media manager for NEXT Uddannelse København which is Denmark’s largest youth education centre. NEXT offers 40+ vocational educations (i.e. studies to become an electrician or carpenter) and 6 high schools. Besides social media, I am also involved in our offline marketing tasks.  In the broadest sense, my job is to help improve the image of vocational educations, as Denmark will need a lot of people with a vocational educations in the near future. To give you an insight into what I work with, here are the most inte

Heading into the 21st century, teaching-wise ...

OK - so now the first teaching day in the ComMan programme is over. Students were extremely attentive and have uploaded fantastic videos. Only too bad that CBS' systems are not really geared towards flipped classrooms and 21st century teaching methods! But we're working on that - right now I've got two awesome colleagues producing an instruction video for us all so we can use the Panopto app on the phone and upload the results direct to Learn. 21st century, here we come 😃
Welcome to the ComManBlog2017 - the blog to support and add new angles to the Communication Management course 2017. We hope to share thoughts and ideas with you here that may or may not necessarily fit into the classroom setting where the curriculum defines the boundaries of our activities. However, in the blog we can share more high-flying ideas, just as we can read input from communication practitioners and add comments. Comments may be edited if necessary, so please keep a civil tone and stick to the overall purpose of the blog. Thank you.
